Pastor Doug Strader
Doug Strader is a Michigan native from Waterford, NW of Detroit. Pastor Doug grew-up in a Christian home and was lead to faith in Christ by his parents at age 6. He felt the call to the gospel ministry in 1974 after serving the summer, before his senior year in high school, as a counselor at a youth camp in central Michigan. Pastor Doug received his undergraduate degree 1979, in Biblical Studies from Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana and his graduate degree, a Masters in Ministry in Biblical Studies, from Gulf Shore Baptist Seminary, Fort Myers, Florida in 1991. Pastor Doug was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1980 and has served churches in south Florida and southeast Michigan since 1979.
Pastor Doug married the love of his life, Lisa Strickland, of Fort Myers, Florida September 27, 1980. Presently, Lisa works as a receptionist at Woodland Family Dentistry in Saline, Michigan. Doug and Lisa are the proud parents of two grown children, Matthew and Lindsey. In 2006, Matthew received a degree in Biblical Studies and Youth Ministry from Grace College and serves as the Youth Pastor at the Grace Brethren Church in Greenville, Ohio. In June of 2006, Matthew married his college sweetheart, Isabel Hutchins, of Wauseon, Ohio, who also graduated from Grace with a degree in Social Work. They are the proud parents of our grandbabies Audrey, Jackson and Micah. In 2009, Lindsey received her degree from Grace College in Biology and in 2011 received a degree in dental hygiene from IUPU Fort Wayne, Indiana and now works as a licensed dental hygienist in Warsaw, Indiana. In June of 2009, Lindsey married her high school sweetheart, Collin Grotbeck, of Adrian, Michigan, who also graduated from Grace with a degree in International Business and works at Orthro Pediatrics in Warsaw, Indiana.
Pastor Doug and Lisa received a unanimous vote of the people on August 18, 2008 and accepted the call to become MBC’s 30th Pastor.
