Pastor Doug's Bio
Doug Strader is a Michigan native from Waterford, NW of Detroit. Pastor Doug grew-up in a Christian home and was lead to faith in Christ by his Mother at age 6. He felt the call to the gospel ministry in 1974 after serving the summer as a counselor at a youth camp in central Michigan. Pastor Doug received his undergraduate degree, B.A. in Biblical Studies with a Minor in Music, from Grace College and Seminary, Winona Lake, Indiana in 1979 and his graduate degree, a Masters in Ministry in Biblical Studies, from Gulf Shore Baptist Seminary, Fort Myers, Florida in 1991. Pastor Doug was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1980 and has served churches in south Florida and southeast Michigan for the past 30 years. Pastor Doug and his wife Lisa have been married for 30 years and have two grown children Mathew and Lindsey. Matthew received a degree in Youth Ministry from Grace College and serves as the Youth Pastor at the Grace Brethren Church in Greenville, Ohio. He and his wife Isabel, of Wauseon, Ohio, also graduated from Grace with a degree in Social Work. They are the proud parents of the world’s greatest grandbabies, Audrey and Jackson. In the spring of 2009, Lindsey received her degree from Grace in Biology and is presently continuing her education at IUPU Fort Wayne, Indiana in the area of dental hygiene. In June of 2009, she married Collin Grotbeck of Adrian, Michigan, who will also graduate from Grace in the spring of 2010 with a degree in International Business. Pastor Doug and Lisa received a unanimous vote of the people on August 18, 2008 and accepted the call to become the 30th Pastor of Milan Baptist Church in Milan, Michigan.
